Aprille + Tim

Amid uncertain times, love prevailed as Aprille and Tim exchanged their vows. Almost two years later they celebrated those vows at the uniquely beautiful Flatrock Dwelling in Flatrock, Newfoundland. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, their desire to celebrate their union with family and friends remained unwavering. Hailing from Newfoundland and Australia respectively, Aprille and Tim’s wedding was a fusion of two families, some travelling from Australia to join the celebration.

Again the backdrop of the lush woods, Aprille and Tim’s wedding photos capture the essence of their romance, surrounded by fresh blueberries, wildflowers, and wild mushrooms. It was a serene moment of tranquillity amidst the bustling festivities. Their special day was reflective of the beauty of love and the power of connection.

I had the privilege of collaborating with Aprille and Tim on their design and day-of coordination witnessing firsthand the dedication and passion poured into every detail of their special day. Aprille’s meticulous attention to detail and spectacular eye for design was evident in the intricate table setting she designed for their intimate dinner, showcasing a wild and natural aesthetic. The table was adorned with layers of fresh florals, crystals, tree trunk slabs, and even fresh mushrooms, creating a whimsical ambiance that reflected the couple’s love of nature. Custom menus, embedded with seeds so they could later be planted, served as both a practical keepsake for guests and a symbol of growth and new beginnings. Aprille’s personal touch extended to the handmade wax wraps with custom name tags, which also doubled as unique take-home favours for their guests. Her two-piece dress, embroidered with the couple’s initials inside a heart, also showcased her thoughtful creativity.

On the day of the wedding, my team and I were honoured to provide setup and tear-down services as well as day-of coordination, ensuring that Aprille’s vision came to life seamlessly. Fork Restaurant catered a sumptuous dinner for 25 of their closest loved ones, adding to the warmth and intimacy of the celebration as it continued into the evening.

Lindsay + Donnie

Against the backdrop of a stormy fall day, Lindsay and Donnie’s wedding unfolded as a testament to love, resilience, and impeccable design.

As avid rowers, the couple chose to honour the place of their shared passion by exchanging vows on the deck of the quaint Quidi Vidi Boathouse on the historic Quidi Vidi Lake in St. John’s, Newfoundland. Despite the windy and rainy weather, their love shone brightly under a white top tent adorned with glowing string lights, creating a cozy haven for their gathering of family and friends.

Working closely with Lindsay to bring her dream vision to life, we collaborated with local florist, Flower Studio, to create a breathtaking display of lush florals and sleek hunt green taper candles on a U-shaped dinner table. Yellowbelly Brewery Public House served as the centrepiece of the reception, hosting 50 of their closest loved ones in this intimate setting. Gold Petal Designs added the perfect finishing touches to our design with stunning personalized acrylic menus that guests were able to take home as a keepsake.

As Lindsay’s text on their wedding night beautifully expressed, “I don’t even know where to start. The wedding was perfect. You are basically Harry Potter and we are best friends forever”. Here’s to many more years of friendship and happiness for this beautiful couple, Lindsay and Donnie.
